Programing Remote Keys

I want to know if anyone knows how to program the remotes to open both/all the doors at the same time with just pushing the bottom once??? The manual says to contact the dealer and they will be able to... With my dodge ram I could do myself but that was four years ago and I've forgotten how..... Was pushing bottoms in a certain sequence??? any ideas

I just bought 2 from a board member {great guy and great price} I took them to the dealer and 45min and $48.00 later I was out the door with 2 extra remotes. Always nice to have extras.

I'd also like to know if that is possible.

Yep. Next time you're at the dealer, tell them you want the "one push" remote button re-programming. Takes about 5 minutes and most (decent) dealerships will do it for free.

Re: Programing Remote Keys

Here's what I got from my dealer. I never got it to work right, but you're welcome to give it a shot or ask your dealer and they should do it for free...

hese are the directions you are looking for to manually reprogram for one click unlock of all doors. Let me know how this works!

(You'll need to complete all of these steps within 40 seconds or it will not program)

-Open the Drivers Door
-Remove Key From Ignition
-Insert Key Into Ignition Twice (In, Out, In, Out)
-Close the Driver's Door Twice--Remember, it should be open! (Close, Open, Close, Open)
-Insert Key In and Out of Ignition Once (In, Out)
-Close the Driver's Door Twice--It should be open! (Close, Open, Close, Open)
-Insert Key Into Ignition but do not remove it!
-Close the Driver's Door
-Turn the Key from Lock to On 4 Times (Lock, On, Lock, On, Lock, On, Lock, On)
-After the locks stop, remove the key from the ignition switch

On your key fob you will need to press and relase both the 'Lock' and 'Unlock' buttons simultaneously.

Then simply press and release the 'Unlock' button and open the driver's door. That's it. All doors should unlock now the first time you press unlock. If not, try it again, it may take a couple of times to get it programmed.

Note: If you would like to return to driver's door unlock then unlock all doors you need to follow the same procedure except press the 'Lock' button instead of the 'Unlock' button in the last step.

Thanks Steve. I'm taking mine in for the 5k in the morning and will ask to have this done. I'll let you guys know if I'm going to a decent dealership or not (if they charge me) I may have to stick with the "2 push" mode.

Re: Programing Remote Keys

Too bad it didn't work, but I just did one for our Toyota Sienna, and it had similar instructions (open door, put key in/out open/close door) and it worked fine. Sometimes it's all in the timing!

I'll compare the two instruction sets when I get home and see if they are the same.

The reason this didn't work was that you forgot the step to hop on one foot while spinning in a circle 3 times...all while removing and reinstalling the roof rack twice.
