Re: Interest Rates - Input Welcome

Garry, that seems like a pretty good deal.

I don't see any incentives for the FJ in the SoCal area.

With great credit expect to pay 6.00% to 7.25% Ford is offering 0% because they're "buying the rate down" to try and move more inventory. With a 740+ becon score I wouldn't pay anything higher. Toyota had a $1,000 rebate on 07 models only.

So I may need to wait until the 09's come out if I want any shot at a decent rebate huh? Might be better off just biting the bullet, as I dont think I want to wait that long.

Thanks for the input everyone

Re: Interest Rates - Input Welcome

7-8% is definitely high. I work for a dealership. The interest rates they are quoting you are marked up, so that the dealership can make money on the financing. Right now you can get an interest rate as low as 5.35% from toyota Financial Services. You just have to negotiate the interest rate just like you would the actual vehicle.

Re: Interest Rates - Input Welcome

2 subjects I can offer advice on.

I too work for a new car dealership, Ford to be specific.

If Toyota Financial isn't offering any rebates there are banks and such that are offering great rates right now. I ended up using Chase for my FJ at 60 or 72 months I received 4.99% financing (I chose 60 just because 72 seems so long).

Now keep in mind that your credit is going to have to be 750+ as you mentioned. My lowest score was a 760 and highest was 786 so with decent income you should be fine.
