Re: Cost of FJs over time?

I have built a Total cost of ownership tool that we use to get an idea of what our past and current autos/motos cost us, which is helpful when planning the next...

Here is a link to my excel spreadsheet - Click Here

Should be a good starting point for a real analysis, vs. some estimate from a magazine...

Talking Re: Cost of FJs over time?

When I was 16.....I got a tattoo.....just one I said, 20 bucks.....15 times under the needle and several grand later...........I'm still not finished

When we first got the FJ, we got the windows tinted, just 100 bucks I said, now 6 months later....and a couple grand later.......I'm still not finished.....In fact.... we haven't owned the FJ for even 1 year yet!!!!!

Yep......more addictive than tattoos......

So....Cost of FJs over time? Depends....are you the guy with a lil cute clover tattoo flexing in front of the mirror....or do you have SLEEVES!!!!!

Re: Cost of FJs over time?

I have owned quite a selection of cars and trucks, It always boils down to how much disposible income I have to burn. I loved a low payment in a small compact with 30 mpg! But I never was happy even with the money I saved. I figure the cost of the fj at about double what a little Civic or Nissan sentra will cost you. What you gain in capability, safety, and satisfaction over the long run is worth the cost. Now you better have some serious duckey's once you get the Mod fever, This cost can again double your cost then again your pleasure! Just stay with in your means, enjoy!

Re: Cost of FJs over time?

I keep adding and re adding. Every time it's a little different. All I know is that to get a good start you need at least---$127,652.72--- That will cover most everything except a new chrome muffler bearing, and if you absolutely need one os those than I hope your swimming in cash. Good luck with the start of your new life, as a FJ financier.

Re: Cost of FJs over time?

I would say it should be pretty high considering thats how all toyota's are doesnt matter what model it is. Alls i want is it to be higher than my JK was 18k for trade in after 10 months with 20k on it. I almost threw up when i saw the book value on it. I hoping after like 70k on my fj ill get 15k for it ill be really happy if that happens.

Very nice, never even thought to do that. I'll definitely be using this! Thanks.
