How would you know if you messed up the pullies or got water in thew the breathers?

Just wondering because i went through some deep water that for about 2-3 seconds was well over the 27 inch mark so im just wondering. As soon as i went through it what sounded like the belt was squeaking alittle bit now its still making that noise but its alot less hardley noticeable with the hood closed. This site is great but sometimes reading these threads just make me really parinoid.

You probably hit the fan too and heard that noise!! you will be just fine, you will have to empty the diffs to see if the breather sucked anything thru, but if you weren't stuck there should be no concern, the diff breather is made just incase something got wedged in it and allowed water in. Otherwise it will work fine, if your not hearing a whining from the pullys your okay

You should check your diffs, I went threw some deep water and mud and found the front Diff contaminated! 6 qrts of a good brand will change everything.

That shouldn't be a problem anymore though, right?

I would change only what needs changing! If you just changed out the rear diff and the transfer just check to see if water got in. You see a milky whiteish look you got water intrusion if not your fine. I went with a synthetic 75/90 for better performance, there are a lot of info on the topic. Get the breather mods done, No More Worries!

Check the thread on the "SCUBA" mod. It's a long one but it will tell you everything you need to know including pictures, also including raising the tranny and the TC vents.
