Re: My new whip (FJ) is amazing!

If it was me I would check or have checked all fluids, and replace if needed, also make sure to grease the drivetrain. Keep in mind the AT is hard to change, you may want to let someone do that for you. Also check everything under the vehicle, make sure no damage to stock parts. This would include; rear lower links, rear link mount, shock mounts, ect.

Re: My new whip (FJ) is amazing!

Jimmy - I traded my M3 for the FJ and found myself having 10X the fun. you are very correct in your observations that there is something different, something great about the FJ that makes it a completely new experience. There are a lot of sports car guys here and they have no regrets either. Man - a 400HP Sti. You gave the Evos a run for their money I'll bet with that setup.

I built my FJ as more of a rally car than 4-wheeler. I find it a lot more fun to blast dirt roads at 60 than it was to blast the highway at 110. It is quite a feeling to come up on a corner that you are too fast for, and just go straight off it 200ft. into the brush and get back on the road like nothing happened.

Re: My new whip (FJ) is amazing!

Welcome to the board. 2 years later and my buddy asked me if the FJ was new.

Make us proud with pictures! There's nothing better than sharing in the addiction.

Re: My new whip (FJ) is amazing!

Ill say one thing, the people here sure are more pleasant that the gents in the car forums. It was always a fight with the car people to gather information or just chat it up. Thanks for all the responses! Work blocked the embedded videos, but I can't wait to watch them.

I am at 250 miles so far and lovin it. Although its a bit slower than the last car, I love the feel/comfort/cargo space of the truck. I am in the process of moving, and I never would have even dreamed of filling the Subaru with the **** I was able to fit in the FJ. And for once... a few scratches and chips only adds to the alure of the vehicle.

Still waiting on pictures.. my camera is packed away in a storage unit until later this week.

Of the 5-6 vehicles I have owned over the years (Including the STI), this has potential to be the best. Just the thought of owning a car that could potentially run to 200k+ miles blows my mind.
