Hi all, new guy here. I'm a Canadian Living in Taiwan and have been wanting to get a FJ Cruiser since they came out. I've never test drove one and FJs are not sold by the Taiwan Toyota network. Recently some independent importers are starting to bring FJs into the country, and I recently saw an online ad of some new FJs available.
I'd love to go see one in person, but the dealer is located about 3 hours drive away from me, and I've been trying to do some research to see if it's even worthwhile for me to consider this truck as small independent dealers won't allow test drives. (It is a norm in this country as small importers have no demos available, and as soon as anyone drives the car, it can't be sold as new)
I'm 6'3" 240 lbs and fit comfortably in my 2003 BMW X5. I'm wondering if the fronts are comfortable and big enough for a big burly fella like myself. I also have 2 big dogs, a Weimaraner and a German Shepard.
The FJs aren't cheap here, with the current exchange rate, almost $70k USD (TW charges 100% tax on automobiles), so I have to seriously consider whether or not this truck is worth as much as a Lexus RX 350 (sold officially by the Lexus network with full warranty).
Thanx in advance for your comments.
I'm 6'3 and 300 lbs and this is the only vehicle on the market I've driven I can stretch out in. Unbelievably room...for the driver and passenger that is. The poor folks in the back seat better be little. Dogs in the back will be fine

Re: FJ Suitable for Tall Guys?
I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs. and the FJC has the roomiest cabin for the driver of any car or truck I've ever owned. Tons of extra head room.

I'm 6'8", 230 lbs. I test drove the H3 before the FJ and loved the room the FJ gave me. It was the decideing factor for me. So glad I went with the FJ.

6'2" 190 lbs - love the comfortable seats and headroom, but you've got to have arms like a monkey to reach the steering wheel! Wheel to pedal distance is for my grandmother IMHO. Someday I'll do a telescoping column transplant from a taco. Dogs? Great danes fits well in back seat or the rear!
6'1" here, it fits great both in full-stretch-out leg room and head room with air space above. But do note, the drivers grab handles is the only part of the car that I've wacked my head on and I plan on removing it. Other than that, no problem.

Re: FJ Suitable for Tall Guys?
I noticed that as well. When I first got the FJ the seat was adjusted all the way down and it was like you say; plus my hip hurt. I adjusted the seat bottom as high as it would go and that solved both problems. Still plenty of head room as well.. Ron
