simple questions from newbie: Lug nut, rear window, etc

Some quick simple questions, I can't seem to readily find with 'search'

What is the Lug nut Size for the stock alloy wheels?

How the heck do you open the rear window.. ?
(also: how do you see through the spare tire when backing up?)

Where can one get matching switches to fit the console and match the other switches?

thanks

13/16" I believe

The window opens by turning the key in the rear door lock and holding it for 2-3 seconds. Only way to see "through" the tire is with a backup camera, very common.

Where can one get matching switches to fit the console and match the other switches?

There are numerous threads with the part numbers, I think they go for about $60 and can be ordered from Toyota

thanks
Your welcome!

You have to open the back window with your key in the hatch door. It took me awhile to figure this one out.

As for backing up, you'll get used the spare tire, other wise rely on your parking assist, the more beeps you get the closer you are.

Like Skorp62 says.. Ron

Fun reading/window story

Re: Rear Window Does Not Open with Key...WTF!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One Sunday after church, Sandy and I were visiting her folks and I asked her dad Raymond if he wanted to "go truck shopping". So we head off to Airport Toyota and drive a couple of SS FJ's. The one I preferred had the off-road package but not the UP2 so I wasn't really interested, but of course they were "make us an offer". So I make them an offer of about $27K and they start the back and forth.. I was just checking out the FJ and opened the back door and looked at the window. Talking to my self, I said "wonder how this opens" and then walked around to see if the manual was in the glove box. It wasn't but when I went to the back, Raymond was bending the defroster connections back and forth thinking they were releases (i.e. VW's). I thought "holy crap he's going to break them off" and quickly said that's not the way to do it. The manager calls me in to "deal" leaving Raymond and the sales guy with the FJ. I make another offer and he goes to "see what he can do" so I go back outside to check on Raymond. They're standing at the back of the FJ and the salesman is bending the defroster tabs back and forth. He yanks off one of the connectors as I walk up and says, well that's not it.. Needless to say, I didn't buy that one It was the funniest thing I've ever seem.. Two 70 year old guys breaking the tabs off the window.. Ron

I installed a backup camera (Toyota's RearSight) and I can see, not only through the spare tire; but through the rear door as well. It's magic!

You are talking about a FJ, right? Ok, Ok, I was a newbie once too. Your local Toyota dealer should be able to answer all the basic questions. If you bought private party and don't have a manual, pick one up.
