E brake tighten...how???

Ever since I got my FJ, the E brake has been extremely loose. it goes to the last click and still rolls.

Is there an easy way to remedy this without taking tires off?

Re: E brake tighten...how???

Just take off the plastic console which houses the e-brake and you will see an adjusting screw for the cable. Just adjust as necessary to take up the slack.

However, I would double check the attachment at the rear brake to make sure something else hasn't happened to create the problem with slack...

Re: E brake tighten...how???

If it's that loose, I'd have the dealer look at it. It's probably still under warranty.

Re: E brake tighten...how???

I have cranked on my E-brake adjusting nut twice, I have 25K on it. I want to feel a solid response from the brake handle. Really easy to do, if you pull the brake handle all the the way and the truck can easily roll then take to the stealer if it is under warranty.

Re: E brake tighten...how???

Same problem with my 08 (6k miles). The e-brake is worthless. I think I may call the dealer this afternoon...
