ok...it sticks out to fit the winch hidden inside, but we no longer need to fit a 16.5, so that will shrink down the mass of it right there, as for how low it sits, that should be fixed as well...we will still offer this design, as it has it purposes though...We offer 4 different grille guard options and I will see if I can get them up here without giving away the name of my company. This bumper only weighs about 20 pounds or so more than the ARB bumper, so while it looks massive, its not, but it is very strong. Its made of 3/16" steel throughout with a product similar to Line-X as a coating..it has a UV protectant in it as well as a strengthening compound to take and not chip up. We make our products to actually be used, not just to look pretty. The light holes now are made for PIAA 510 series, that may change with the new design though.
Not to be rude but the bumper looks like a growth off the front of the rig. Yes perhaps a little to large. The design isn't bad and actually resembles another vendors bumper. Scale it down. There's no need for a 16K winch in there unless your going out to pull semi's out of a ditch!

you are not being rude...that is why I am on here, to get everyones opinions and make this the ideal bumper. When we set out, we were going to make all of our bumpers fit a 16.5 winch...but with jeeps, and mid size trucks in our lineup, its not a feet that is worth while. The 16.5k Is way over kill for these so we are going to scale the bumper down quite a bit...you guys as the avid offroaders, what is the biggest winch you will carry? 12k, 10k, 9k...what? This way I will design the new one around that winch and still have it fit all the contours like this one does.
I think most on here are running Warn's m8000's and 9000's. I've got an m8000

You asked... I waited to give my opinion until seeing the additional photos... It looks like a big fat lip. That said, it looks like a very well-built and functional bumper. It just doesn't look good on an FJ.
Here are some suggestions. It definitely needs to be slimmer. I think the best way to do that would be to draw it up higher, getting rid of the apparent rounded top edge that really gives it the "pouty" fat lip look. Also, along the lower sides - either side of the skid plate area, it might look better to inset - make those side areas concave, or flat so it isn't a continuous round form with the skid plate portion. I hope that you can interpret my description here. Good luck!
BTW, welcome to the forum!

The size of the light sockets that you have in that bumper if designed for the PIAA as you indicated would be great.
I figured that it was an Line-X/Rhinoliner/Armorthane/etc. type product. I like the texture and if put on well should hold up. I know that in the back of my old Tacoma I could not kill this stuff, it was well coated not a cheap job.
Again to make this bumper a size that FJ enthusiasts would be interested in. Shorten the depth. the top could be shorter, the first angled piece could be shorter, not so long, which would both decrease depth, then the flat front facing piece could be made longer to accommodate the same size PIAA lights that you stated......
I'm no designer but this seems like it would work to me.
No bumper of course will make everyone here happy, cause we all look for different things, but this bumper does have potential to appeals to the masses if scaled down in size. IMHO

I have found that 1/2 love it and the rest hate it. I don't see why you think its to big. We ripped apart our first cross member with the original bumper, so thats why we made this one. It encorporates a skid plate and a winch, and light, all of which need room, so its a different style from stock...but look how stout we are and how weak the stock one is. Oh well, Like they say you can't please everyone. We will have our standard protection bumper still available, but we will make a smaller one that will barely fit a 9500lb winch to make it smaller, Im just worried about people complaining about their cross member...IFS is horrible.
