Re: Manual 4x4 still available?

Yep, they're still available. But, not as commonly found at dealerships as the 5AT's. We recently bought four 2008 6-speed manuals for our SUV/4x4 driver training programs (1 Voodoo, 1 Sun Fusion, 1 Brick and 1 Black).

it basically runs in 4 hi all the time. That's the main thing I don't like about mine.
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why Toyota made that particular decision. To me, it would've seemed more logical for the 6MT's to be a part-time 4x4 system.

I'm guessing it's because all Land Cruisers have been AWD since 1991, and Toyota (and the majority of their customers?) are used to it now. FWIW I really like this setup on my FJ80 and would have happily bought an MT6 FJC if I could have found one when I bought mine.

Re: Manual 4x4 still available?

I just bought mine in metallic silver yesterday. I am from the baltimore area and had a tough time finding one. I finally found one at carmax in laurel (by searching their website), they have a few more that are MT, but only in brick color I think. I never knew they sold new cars or even had franchised dealerships. I got a pretty good deal on it too. Was priced below invoice, I think there isn't much of a demand for MT in this area and they want to get rid of the few they have. I love MT, have always had it in all my vehicles, better control over accel and deaccel, and more fun. Good luck on your search.

Re: Manual 4x4 still available?

Welcome to the forum, I love my 6MT, but the only problem with it is that since it runs in 4h all time it sucks more gas than the ATs, but at least it's only a few mpg behind.

Re: Manual 4x4 still available?

I had to get the dealer to send mine from another dealer but I was able to get a 6MT without any trouble. You will enjoy it I am certain.
