Lift kit?

I have read many threads on lift kits and some online stuff. I still not sure I completely understand how the whole lift thing works, but am interested in getting one.

I thought I would post some of my options in the hopes that those more knowledgable could help me pick the better one.

I am interested in a 3" lift, but am on a tight budget. My fj is also my daily driver, so i need something that will handle decent.

Options

1. FJ3-FRCC 3" lift from toytec. I don't plan on a bumper in near future, only sliders and some skids and stuff on bottom. Go with 884?

Toytec told me I could go use my bilstein stock shocks. Will that provide a decent ride, or do I need to go with OME shocks.

Problem is that is getting out of my budget.

2. FJ3-FRCC 3" lift from toytec with stock shocks and replace with OME later when I have more money

3. 5100coilkit2 design to turn my stock bilsteins into front coilovers. I don't know what a coilover is so don't know if this is a good option. Do I still need the OME 884 springs for rear?

4. What are the bilstein heigh adjustable shocks designed to do? do I still need springs if I go that route?

Any other options, would be appreciated. Looking for best handling for price.

I know some that are knowledgable get tired of answering questions for those that aren't but, I have read threads and still have no clue what I am doing.

Appreciate any and all help.

Re: Lift kit?

i went with the Toytec OME lift and kept stock shocks...knowing i might lose a little wheel travel in severe wheeling...but thought I would be able to atleast get my suspension now and upgrade to OME shocks in Winter or Spring....I got medium front and rear as I tow sometimes and plan on a medium weight bumper up front in next few months. i have been very happy.

Re: Lift kit?

I went with the Toytec lift in option #1 (with the 884 springs). I kept my stock front shocks and got the much cheaper nitro pro comp rear shocks instead of OME. No problems. Go for it!

Re: Lift kit?

I got the OME toytec lift with medium all around. Been very happy with this setup and install was pretty easy. When you get your lift let me know and I will plan a trip up to help you with the install.
