Question Used '07 AT 4x4 FJ Questions

Hey y'all!

I bought a used '07 AT 4x4 FJ from a lady in Houston, yesterday... woohoo!!

Anyways, I'm looking for suggestions for any extra preventative maintenance that I should do or stuff that I should have checked out considering that it's used and the following:

1. 25500 miles
2. 4x4 was never used... and probably not exercised at all since it was driven off the lot the first time
3. All regularly scheduled maintenance was done at a Toyota dealership, but only the required maintenance, nothing extra.

Thanks in advance

Re: Used '07 AT 4x4 FJ Questions

I would personally change or have all of the fluids changed if i bought a used vehicle.
Just me. You need to start using the 4x4 a little bit a month to keep the parts lubricated well.

Re: Used '07 AT 4x4 FJ Questions

Welcome.

I would go thru all the maintenance schedules from the first thru the current mileage and assume non have been done other than maybe oil changes. So as layonnn says, change all the fluids, grease everything that should be greased. New wiper blades, rotate tires, re-torque driveshaft bolts etc.. Your probably good on filters and sparkplugs until 30K.

Did you get the owner's manual with it?

Ya, I got the owners manual and all documentation that she had on the service work completed to date. I also went to the dealership where she bought it and had all work done. They confirmed that she completed all the regularly scheduled maintenance, and also she did oil changes at 3K rather than 5K miles.

I bet your wondering if the service manual was stamped each time. No it wasn't. Not a single stamp. I doubt the previous owner even opened any of the manuals. The registration card for the wheel locks was still unopened.

Anyways. Thanks for the input guys. I'll discuss it with the service department at my local dealership. I am normally a do-it-yourself kinda guy, but I think I'll let the pro's handle the maintenance for now.
