Elecronic rust protection module

Hey Guys,

As some of you know I bought a Silver package C FJ last week. I haven't picked it up yet but the dealership is offering a paint protection which I think is a scam for 300 bucks + tax and an Elecronic rust protection module that gets mounted in the engine bay. It is a lifetime warranty and can be transported from vehicle to vehicle.

Apparently if you have this you don't ever have to rust proof your car or get it oil sprayed. It's made by a company called Sym-tech.

Does anybody have this? Seems to good to be true. I went all over the fine print and even have it in writing that if the car ever rusts they have to repair it for free and that includes surface rust as well!!

Re: Elecronic rust protection module

I spoke to my neighbour who is an engineer. He said that scientifically these devices should work. No, I don't have one.

Re: Elecronic rust protection module

I don't know I kep going back and forth on it, it's not a hell of a lot more money in the grand scheme of things, I think I might do it.

Lifetime warranty and not having to get the car sprayed every year at Krown makes it seem worth it.

I guess it depends on where you live and what you drive in. A wet, humid environment? Road salt? Couldn't tell from your banner or sig.
