Re: Why won't my tires come off???

I've had to sit on my rear end and kick the left and right side of the tire to break it loose. I put a thin coat of anti-seize around the hub and haven't had any problems since.

Re: Why won't my tires come off???

I need to do a tire rotation and the last time I had the same problem as you.
This time I will try and use a wire wheel on the end of a drill and remove some
of the rusty area that the rim mates to. Maybe some never seize or lithium greese
will prevent the sticking problem!

Sounds like it's time to employ that precision tool referred to as the BFH

Re: Why won't my tires come off???

Range Rovers and Discos have this problem w/ their aluminum wheels. It has been my experience that you should never put anti-seize on the hubs...the heat of the brakes will make it run onto the rotor.

Look up the product Wheel Mates (I think), these are very thin, fibrous discs that slip over the studs and hub. The wheel sits against them and prevents the corrosion problem. I had them on my Range Rover and they worked like a charm. There was no problem with how the rim sat on the hub either, which can obviously cause wheel balance issues.
