Re: some jerk off keyed my windows and mirrors

Most likely it wasn't a 'key' that they used to mark your windows and mirrors. A key wouldn't work but a diamond or glass cutter will. I live in downtown Sacramento and every once in awhile you'll notice someone's store front window 'tagged' by some lil no respect having punk. My cop buddies told me after asking, that it's happening more and more and also said that they use a diamond on a ring generally. Doesn't have to be expensive just natural diamond and of any size. I hope you catch the lil ba$tard$ and beat your money back out of 'em. If it's not too bad or deep they can use a special polishing powder to get it out but this can be tricky and shouldn't be tried unless you have experience. You can heat up the window and crack it. Like Stringmachine said: You might try the window (or glass) place near you.

Sucks, man. Probably bratty kids that deserve a beat down. Hope they get caught and have to pay out the arse.

And my chick thinks I am a little obsessive about where I park mine...

Had some problems with my last vehicle getting vandalized. It ruins you, man...can't trust anyone like you did before. Sorry to hear about it, hope the polishing fix works.

I feel for ya. Just before I got Luna this year I had had my solar yellow Xterra for just over four years... new when I bought it, lived in four states and assorted cities, and never a scratch or ding. Then I have to go into filthy downtown welfareville otherwise known as Milwaukee for a HALF HOUR and I get keyed from stem to stern on the passenger side. I was parked on the street in plain view of several businesses. Damn sheeple. $1000 deductible was all mine to pay. The money wasn't even the issue... it was the violation... the fury... So I feel for you, because if I would have caught him/them in the act, I'd have mounted that sheeple's head over my fireplace as a lovely momento of the occasion.

Howls,
FJ Wolf

If it's not too deep, like Angry Barber said, you might be able to, for lack of any better terms, "buff it out" like small, non-deep scratches in paint. There's probably at least a half decent chance you could go to your local glass place and they might just make your day with a nice surprise telling you it's not that deep and they could minimize or even repair the damage for less than an arm and a leg.

Heh it's funny you say this, my sister's a4 got keyed completely from hood, to roof, to trunk lid back in 2000. It wasn't that my family couldn't pay for the damages, it's just the fact that there are people out there, that for reasons uncompromisable by myself and many others feel that they should destroy others property. Hell, I was only about 12 years old in 2000 and I even understood that people's property should be respected....

At any rate, the best of luck to you with getting this fixed!

-Darren

In the future, use what works for me --> Meet Aleka she is guaranteed to f@u@c@k anybody who touches my FJ. It's nice when I shop, I can leave my keys in teh car and my girl in the drivers seat.
