Question Noob Question...

Is it worth (or possible) getting the A-TRAC switch in the Automatic FJ? I know its common on the MT. The guy at the dealership seemed to think it wasn't available on the auto.

Thanks.

Re: Noob Question...

If you have a factory installed locking rear differential, all you have to do to add ATRAC is plug the switch in and turn it on.

Your contact at the dealership is wrong.

Re: Noob Question...

Absolutely! If you have a locking rear diff, you can add ATRAC with the purchase of the switch. It's a plug and play mod! For a discussion of what it does go here: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...explained.html

Go here to see:The "No Cut" A-TRAC + RR DIFF Hack. and here: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...st-w-pics.html

See the technical section for more info.

cheers,

dale

Re: Noob Question...

Wow, I just watched the install video that someone posted up. That's rediculous that all you do is pull the blank and replace it with the button...!

Is it honestly that easy? No messing with fuses or pulling the console? I thought I heard you had to do that.

Re: Noob Question...

Ben - It really is just a matter of pulling the blank, plugging it in, and replacing the switch into the slot. A 2 minute job - and that was with running back into the house to see if the wire color/coding was correct on the plug harness. An awesome $50 mod. Buy it from one of the vendors on here.

Uncle B,

I don't recall if you said you had a locking rear diff. You have to have one for the ATRAC mod to work.

cheers,

dale
