Re: factory subwoofer ?'s

On the other hand, if you've never had a subwoofer, the factory installed doesn't suck. At high volumes, with the right CD, it cranks out more bass than I've heard without a subwoofer. I'm glad I got it, although if I had the know how I would have put a more powerful subwoofer/sound system in as everyone has recommended.

The subwoofer on the the Factory sub box is 8" dual coil 30W/30W - 2ohm/2ohm.

yeah, seriously the sub sucks. i actually like the box, but... its like white people bass. lol. if your like me, you want to feel it destroying your chest.

you know you have good bass when you cant even use the rearview mirror because everything looks blurry.
you know you have great bass when you look through the windshield and your vision is blurry, and the bass is still defined and accurate. no exaggerrations either...

Re: factory subwoofer ?'s

I'M FINE WITH THE FACTORY SUB, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE A HIT IN THE MATTELL KEN & BARBIE SECTION AT TOYS R US. WHO ARE THE BRAINS IN JAPAN THAT SOURCED THAT THING ANYWAY. FOR ALL THE GREAT THINGS TOYOTA DOES, SOMETIMES THEY REALLY JUST THROW YOU A CURVE BALL THAT MAKES ME SAY HUUUGH?

Mine came with the factory sub. This white boy not interested in replacing amp and box, but would like a little more bass. Can you replace the speaker itself with a higher quality one and get a bit better bass? If so, which brand would you recommend? I think it is an 8".

I have an 07 without and a 08 with, there is a difference but I would have rather go custom. Yes all the speakers in the FJ swapable and the fjammer does have a plug for a amp. I have a buddy that does all the custom stuff for car toys out here and has done some pretty good stuff including cusome boxes that fit in the same spot with bigger and better speakers. I personaly use to like the alpine type r series but its been a few years and don't know whats out now.
