I have both the aluminum and black steel. I run the sleelies spring to fall with BFG Mud Terrains for wheelin and the aluminum during the winter with snow tires. Best of both worlds.

I have the alloys and a set of steelies. If I'm offroading I run the steelies. As has been said, bend them and beat them back out!

I just ordered steelies for our FJ.

For those of you considering wheeling with aluminum, here's my experience:

I have those wheels on my taco but I'm going black steel on the FJ....

I personally like these (pro-comp) wheels. Not totally black, so you can see visible transition between wheel and tire. And no tiny shiny nuts, bolts and screws.
What is that all about anyway?

I have a complete set of O.E.M. Black Steel Rims and tires coming off of my new FJ Cruiser.

I am looking to off-load them to someone who is interested... I have them listed on EBAY if there are serious folks interested.

I will take $950.00 for the set of five

Local in Las Vegas... Be available next week by Thursday... I ordered some Pro-Comp Wheels and BFG KM2 tires...

i on the otherhand, is reminded of F1 rims (except theyre carbon fiber instead of steal) plus its a classic look while chrome, spinning things (i dont know what you call them but was fashionable 2-3yrs ago), gold plated stuff will come and go.
