I'm looking at used FJ Cruisers in the Dallas area...and there are plenty. Salesman crack me up however asking more for a used then a new one.
Yes...this actually happened end of last week. I have found good conditioned used FJ's with low miles in the 23k neighborhood. Plan on pulling the trigger on one this week or next.
Bought one today....loaded 2008 Silver 4WD with 15k miles on it........paid 24k.
They were pissed I had a pre-approved loan, did not care less about a trade-in, all the option prices broke out in Trade-In, Private Party and Dealer Retail prices and simply went down the list marking off what it DIDN'T have and then penned the price I'd pay.......
They wanted 28k + tax, title and license for it!!
Now I need to take my loved and cared for 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited in for an oil change and detail cleaning and up for sale it goes.

Everything except the leather steering wheel with audio controls, 17 inch wheels, CD changer and the bass box. I plan on taking it tomorrow and get a TRD Supercharger priced and bought.
In response to Wilsons question....bought it at Don Davis in Arlington.

We've had ours for about a month now and love it! Ours is an 08 VDB auto,4WD with the trail package.
We haven't had it off road yet, but it does fine around town. I moved the XM from our other vehicle into this one and thats the only mod we've done.....so far lol.
Being a dog slave as well, the interior is perfect! Most other fabrics and carpets, dog hair gets into the fibers and is a royal PITA to get out. The seat fabric in the FJ don't allow this to happen. I used the shop vac and it all came right off the seats. Rubber floors are great too, as we have a 4 year old and they're not much cleaner than a dog! lol
Congrats!
If you plan on doing any offroading, call TRDParts4U.com and inquire on the Outruder Suspension Armor.
Thanks, I'll have to look into this. Spent a few hours yesterday trying to decide ....16 inch wheels or go 17 inch wheels. While I do enjoy off roading, this is also my daily driver. Trying to find a happy medium on wheels and tires that will work well for miles and miles of city driving.
I searched extensively for a mid-sized off road SUV with on road great handling. My desire was to buy American; however, none of the similar vehicles by GM (H3) or Jeep were comparable in ride comfort and engineering. Since I already own an older Jeep, I was impressed with the engine, but not the overall quality.
We have owned our FJ for two years and love it. We took it totally stock to the FJ Summit in Ouray Colorado and it took even the toughest trails at ease (Black Bear Pass). It drives like a car but masters the off-road. The vehicle gets about 17 mpg. There is a blind spot you have to be aware of. The rear doors allow reasonable access, but not as good as a four-door. It is slated for premium gas; however, people tell me mid-level octane works just fine and one guy uses regular gas in his. He does lose a little performance using regular.
Overall, it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. And something I was told is that Toyota has more plants in America and hires more Americans that any other automobile manufacturer. To me, $30,000 vehicle is a large investment, and I cannot afford to buy anything but the best.
