Black Stock Skids? super newbie!!!

Hi I just picked up my brand new 2010 FJ yesterday. If not for my girlfriend, I would have slept in it over night just to be close.

I was looking at the included factory exterior options, and it says I have skid plates on the engine transfer case and and fuel tank. I looked underneath the front bumper, and with no other reference to look at, I can't tell if I have a front skid. its just black there not silver. Do I have a black skid or do I still need to buy one for the front?

sorry if this sounds like a stupid question...

You do have the stock tin/ sheet metal skids. Don't even waste your money on the "bling plate" as it's known as on here. All that thing is is a shovel. If you are looking for skids I am having a group buy in a few weeks, keep an eye out for it. And welcome to the forum!

You have the black "gravel guard. The OEM add-on skid is not much more and not all that helpful. If you think you will need skids take a look at Bud Built they have pretty much set the standard for the FJC.

Buds are tough... no doubt about it. But, if I wasn't into wheel'n hard... the Ricochet skids are the way I would go.
