Looking to accessorize my new FJ.....What are the top 5 must haves?

I should be picking up my new Iceberg 4x4 FJ next week. As I look to accessorize my vehicle I see that there are endless numbers of accessories. So for those of you who have been down this same path, what were your "top 5" must haves?

Since everyone wants to new my intentions with the vehicle so they can advise me on accessories, I can tell you there won't be any immediate plans for rock crawling. Maybe some light trails. Mainly hauling sports equipment, daily driver, beach mobile.

Thanks for all the good replies thus far.

Get yourself that 08TTSE look...black out all the silver exterior appointments. The wheels too.

just my 2cents.

other than that...tell us what you plan on doing with the vehicle. That will give folks a good start at recommendations.

cangrats on the new FJ! (and color!)

It depends on whether you will wheel it or not, and where you will wheel it.

Wheel it: Rock rails, lift, tires, more armor, and decent roof rack if you need to carry stuff on the roof.

Don't wheel it: MPAC back rack, MPAC side rack, cat-back exhaust, supercharger, cool stereo/DVD player/GPS unit.

What are your plans for the vehicle. Offroad, desert runs, rock gardens, etc. The list will depend on where you are using the vehicle.

CB
Rock sliders
Skids
Tires
Suspension

Would be great areas to start

Re: Looking to accessorize my new FJ.....What are the top 5 must haves?

1) Tires - for a more agressive look
2) Lift - Who wants a "low rider" FJ
3) Interior Lights - Good luck trying to see anything in the dark
4) CB - if you plan on Trail Riding with friends
5) CAI - More air is better...

My 2 cents worth...

I couldn't live without a Tuffy locking console box. Or a ScanGauge II. Or a GPS. Or XM. Or Bilstein 5100 front shocks. Or...

Re: Looking to accessorize my new FJ.....What are the top 5 must haves?

Most everyone above has posted some pretty good suggestions. First of all will it be a daily driver and will it ever leave the roadway onto trails? If it's going to be a mall crawler you may only want 2WD and If you will play offroad get 4WD package #2.

Once the mod bug bites your list of things will grow and grow. I can't live without what I already have and it's just not enough!

Look into the Build threads for unlimited uprades!
