Best place to get a hitch and harness?

Hi All,

The 2010 is coming in next week (I hope). I need to get a hitch and harness for it. Where do you recommend I get one? I don't want to pay the $350 from Toyota... little pricey!!

thanks

$139 for the hitch and another $100 for the harness... $100 for the harness sounds expensive... no?? I looked into TRDparts4U.com as Layton (Layonnn) suggested. Their website lists the harness at ~$84.96.

I inquired by email for prices and shipping from them for the OEM hitch/harness.

I'll look at the Valley hitch/harness next...

Why don't after market hitches attach like the OEM hitch? The OEM hitch looks simple, has better ground clearance, and the 5000 lb tow capacity....

Thanks for your input!!

Re: Best place to get a hitch and harness?

Try Sparks Toyota...also a vendor here. The hitch you can put on yourself if you get the Toyota OEM hitch and not the REESE they try to sell everyone. It bolts directly to frame in pre threaded holes.

Same for harness it is just plug and play...

Check for someone that bought a bumper that would not allow use of factory hitch....check some of the bumper manufacturers like Expedition One that I think require thier own hitch mounts....I bet they might have one laying around....or someone should.

I ended up getting it from a local dealer... I had a 10% coupon... List price for the hitch and the harness was $300, took off the coupon for $30, left me with a bill for $270.

I emailed the TRDparts4U.com supplier that was recommended, they did have good prices and responded promptly, with shipping it would have about the same price as I got here with the coupon... So I just bought/picked it up it locally.

It went on real easy, I used anti-seize and sprayed the frame under the rear bumper with Fluid Film when I had it off. The winter road salt up here is brutal on vehicles...

My only guess, they barely have to change design between different vehicles if it is made like the reese one. Also, they would have to design a plastic trim valence to go around the OEM style hitch if they made it that way.
