It is Friday night and it is my BIRTHDAY so let's play!!! What has everyone been doing???

I know that Wrig and Debbie are getting ready for Summit but what is everyone else doing on a great weekend in July?

I agree! I'm finally active after barely posting a thing for the last 14 months! So post up people! Sheesh!

What I'm doing with my Friday:

Being seriously bummed that it's storming like mad outside. One of the hotels just called - our Best Western was hit by lightening. Half the hotel has lost power, FD is out there checkin it out.

And I'm betting there's going to be some refunds and adjustments in the morning. Fantabulous!

And being happy that I hung the welcome home sign for Brian. Even being a few weeks out, it helped just hanging it. :) Made me smile!

Just hanging here. Hubby is sleeping on the sofa, puppy is just asking for trouble. Son, well he is "talking" to his girlfriend via text (21 year olds are lots of FUN, but he is an awesome guy).

Birthday has been amazing, best since I was a kid. I even had balloons and confetti on the tables. It was so much fun.....

Gordon Biersch ROCKS!!! Tom was the VP over the one here in NOLA. They even sent him hats and shirts in Iraq while he was there in 06/07. We love them and go there anytime we want some callimari!

It's my 2nd to last day of vacation today. We went to a museum, saw an IMAX movie, and now getting ready for din-din. Tomorrow = softball game at 9, then over to my special-needs brother-in-law's place to hang a TV, DVD player and PS2 for his new room at the live-in care center. We'll probably take him to lunch, too. Then, Sunday, another softball game and then back to work. So, no Summit for Dave this year. I'll be here, tending my little section on the Forum. :D

Don't worry Dave, I am not at Summit this year either. NEXT year though, notifiy the authorities, WE ARE COMMING!!!

Lets see....it's just after 11pm....There is NOTHING on TV....My girlfriend is asleep on the couch. The AC is humming away and the day is slowly coming to an end. We took off early this morning for a two hour drive to Moncton to the Atlantic Nationals Car Show. They block off Main St for the first day of the show and have a "cruise in". It is a pretty good show with perfect weather. Only a few trucks in the show....But lots and lots of shiny cars....I do have to say that the nicest vehicle I saw all day was the one I drove home in.... But that was my day....

But I did see this.....lol....Believe it or not it's an '87 Bronco II

I don't come around here much. Didn't want to intrude... :worried:

Nope I did not catch that one. I actually did not even look at the slip up. I could have but chose not too. As I understand the facts, it really was not his fault so.......

I got out of work, fought the traffic on the 405 and went to Dirty Parts to get some gear for the summit. I then fought the traffic the other way to get home where I am currently hanging out with my son and eating a pizza.

I will spend the weekend getting ready for the trip to Ouray and a stop in Vega$ on the return.:rocker:

I can't wait till Monday afternoon to get on the road!:bigthumb:

Happy B-day Kim!

Landy...5" of lift, DAMMMNNNN BOYEEE! This I have got to see. :rocker:
Sorry we are going to miss you tomorrow at the M&G.

I am sure several Summit bound people are packing or maybe already on the road.

Me and the Mrs are just kicking back. I finished the install on the factory Sirius radio about 30 minutes ago. I am going to need another antenna. I bought the wrong dang one. Anyone have a magnetic Sirius antenna they are not using???

My night just got exponentially better.

My three year old son disappeared for a second (he'd been watching the boob tube, unwinding). I didn't worry, there's not much he can get into without me hearing or seeing. I hear little feeties upstairs.

"HEY! THERE YOU ARE!!!.... "

"Ronin, don't yell"

"Maaawwwwmmmm!!!! I found my monkey covers!" (his monkey duvet cover for his bed)

I go upstairs, thinking I need to talk to him about yelling.

"Mom, will you peese put dis on my bed? You always make my bed wealwy nice!"

It was so sweet, I had to oblige him. So I haul out some fresh sheets and pillow cases too (I'm a bedding nut). I start to make his bed.

"I'm gonna help!" He starts stuffing a pillow into a sham in his little three year old way.
"Mom, maybe I need some help" (normally, there would have been a tantrum born of frustration at that point). Surprised, I help him.

He has too many pillows on his bed, that he has bogarted from the stash in the linen closet and the downstairs closet where I keep some extras. Two pillows lack cases.
"Hey buddy, would you like mommy's green pillow cases too? They would match nice"

"Yes mommy! That would be really nice of you to share!"

Wow.

We finish up his bed. He jumps on it, then promptly jumps off, and hands me one of his toys. "Mommy, can you fix this? You're wealwy good at fixing stuff". I put the parts back together (too easy, they snap on and off).

"Thanks mom. I love you. Now can I have a movie?"

Okay.

I guess you have to understand my son. He's a three year old turkey head. A handful if you will.

I fear we have an "invasion of the body snatchers" thing going on here. Either that, or drilling politeness into his head is FINALLY paying off!

Either way, made my night.

Cheesy, yes. But after the week I've had, this was really, really nice. What a great kid. :)

Happy late Birthday!!!:cheers::clap::bigthumb:

Well Kim, I hope you had a good weekend. Friday night, we ended up going over to the rock and bowl and listening to Snooks Eaglin (Here's the wiki link Snooks Eaglin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and it was awesome! If you ever get a chance to see him, go! He's 82, blind, and can jam on the guitar!!! (Plus he's my friend's grandfather...)

#44 ·
Nate, we had a BLAST!! Galitoire's was AMAZING and I told Tom that I had the best birthday EVER!! 45 is just a number, indeed!!!

I'm here....sorta....well, I'm at my desk. It's a very slow day today. Everyone's in a very sad mood....one of our Lieutenants was involved in a fatal car crash last week on his way home from work. We were hired the same day, same academy, same stations at times. He was a great friend to me. Tomorrow is his funeral, and a lot of the officers are at the viewing/roasary now. Thankfully, the radio calls are practically non-existent.

#47 ·
I'm sorry Dave. That is a tough one. We had a North Shore officer and her fiance traveling in the same cruiser last year for a funeral (fellow officer). A huge tree branch fell on them during the procession and killed the male officer and paralyzed the fiance (officer as well). Very very sad situation. That one makes me think alot for our LEO population's sacrices.

Good luck tomorrow, Dave.
