Would like to find one soon, playing in a trio for a wedding in July.
I did a couple of weddings some time ago (with a borrowed pic trumpet) in a trumpet trio configuration accompanied by a church organ, and it sounded GREAT!!

You're gonna have to get one, mikey!!

Give it to him NOW! (In May)

Think about this:

He turns 21 and with nothing to distract him, he could just go to the Quarter and get in trouble.
But with that new instrument, he might skip the party altogether!

Or scenario 3: he takes the guitar to the Quarter, opens the case, and make a hundred bucks playing for the crowd on the street!

I'm not really helping, am I?

M
Sure you are!!!!! He did tell me that he wants us to "go out" somewhere where he can buy a beer. Mind you he can have a beer anytime he wants at home. I am one of those moms who is realistic and knows what young college guys do!!! But anyhooowwww...... I like all of the scenarios above! He actually already gets some pretty good little paying gigs. One weekend in the next few, some mall in Shreveport is paying him to play there! He is a John Mayer/James Taylor sounding guy. Got his own voice, for sure, but that is the style music he plays. For a mom, I love to hear him play!!!!!

We are trying for a trio, but the third has had trouble making practice. We are playing Trumpet Volantary by Purcell with and Organ accompaniment.

We are going the mess with bride at the rehersal, we are going start playing the theme from Rocky, after that we'll play the theme from Indiana Jones and then the 3rd time we will play the right piece.

That's exactly what we played, along with a couple of Bach pieces. Nothing like a pic trumpet for those.

Too funny!! I'm sure she'll love it (or completely freak out).

Steve, Nate put the Goya in his hands this afternoon! It was AMAZING! He sang Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" and it was AWESOME! I will post pics. I promise!
