MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic

For any of you acoustic fans, if you have tried a Taylor guitar, you know they have wonderful tone and unparalleled craftsmanship. This is a limited edition run from 2003 with very expensive appointments. It would be a custom order now around $4600. I am firm at $1750 shipped in CONT US, as I have already lowered the price several times.

This guitar is my main squeeze and the best maple I have ever played (and I have played a lot of Taylor Maples!!!) I am pressed financially with a never-ending divorce (going on two years now and she loves to monitor me on this forum) I need to part with both of them.

This guitar is a spectacular limited inside and out. Very big, balanced sound that cuts through playing live or recording. It has easy, low action and is just a joy to play.

In addition to the select flamed maple back and sides, honey colored sitka top. Gorgeous rosewood binding, cocobolo headstock overlay, heel and wedge with 900 series abalone binding detail and soundhole inlay. The Pearl Snowflake markers which are beautiful and unique to this series and this guitar has the nicest (most expensive) additions that Taylor has ever put on a limited as far as I know.

It has brand new (June '08) K&K mini pickup installed.
It is in mint condition. No marks at all that I can find and frets are in excellent shape. Comes with deluxe Taylor case.

* Cocobolo headstock overlay

* Solid natural flamed maple Back and Sides

* Sitka Spruce top

* Maple Neck

* Ebony Fretboard

* Dreadnaught Size

* Limited Snowflake Pearl inlay

* Gold Grover Tuners

* Cocobolo wedge and heel on back

* Cocobolo binding

* Select Abalone Binding detail on top

* Professional Setup (plays like butter!)

Damn Delane sorry to hear you have to sell that, that is one fine guitar! If I knew how to play one I would be taking that off your hands as soon as I could get to your house, no doubt about it.

Good luck on your "yard sale" you have going on, I perused through what you are selling, unfortunately there is nothing there that I need right now.

When are we going to run the trails up AF canyon and then have a bbq at your house??

....and to the monitor, monitoring all things Delray, please quit monitoring, there is nothing to monitor here...

Oh man I am so tempted. I always wanted a Taylor.

I am really torn between this guitar or the rear bumper.

Re: MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic

Taylor or rear bumper.....hmmmm. That is a hard choice, but I say Taylor because they only made about 80 of this Summer Strummer model

You know you can trust me for a completely unbiased opinion on this.

OMG! That is awesome!!
I want it!! Gotta see if there is room on the LOC :|

That really is a work of art and Taylors have got to be one of the smoothest sounding accoustics out there! Ugh . . . I WAS looking at a front bumper and skid plate. Now what . . .

Re: MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic

Is this like a 900 series? I realize it is custom made but it probably has similar features to one of the production lines.

Also, what is the action like on this? I know it is a Taylor but just curious.

Re: MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic

Beautiful guitar; sorry you have to sell it. I would love to have it but I already bought one cool guitar off of this very forum this year, and just dropped a wad of cash on FJC parts two days ago. Looks like a hell of a deal for someone. Good luck!

Re: MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic

FJKoji, it is not a 900 series, but has similar appointments as a limited run. 900 series is exclusively Rosewood (regularly Indian Rosewood, but some limited 8 and 9 series are Madagascar or Brazilian). As you probably know, maple is a different beast and denoted with a "6" in the series. Has nothing to do with higher numbers being fancier (which is true with other Taylor models 1-900). 6 series is reserved exclusively for maple. Maple has a stronger attack, and quicker decay which makes it cut through better, but is typically not as warm or full sounding as rosewood. There are exceptional maples, that sound more full. A lot of people prefer maple, or visa versa. I like a good example both, but that is not a luxury I can afford right now. This is hands-down the best Maple I have ever played. That is why I have it ;-)

The action is phenomenal. Something Taylor is known for, but I often adjust the saddle down a bit if I prefer it a bit lower (the saddle just floats in the bridge). That was not necessary for this one. It is easy and low and zero fret buzz.
