VIAIR Compressor (450P-Automatic)

VIAIR 450P-Automatic

I have two of these compressors available. (NEVER BEEN USED) $250.00 (ea) plus shipping if required. This is one of the top of the line in portable compressors. It could be modified for hard mounting as well.

450P-Automatic is VIAIR's first 100% duty cycle portable compressor. This compressor can run for hours at a time without needing to be rested when run to pressures under 100 PSI. The 450-P Automatic comes with another first as well - automatic shutoff function, when air is not being pumped into a tire and the units air line contains 150 PSI. The 450P-Automatic comes with a close-ended gas station-style air gun for added convenience.

450P-A Standard Features:
• Oil-less Design
• High Performance PTFE Piston Ring
• Stainless Steel Valves
• Moisture & Dust Resistant
• Gearless Direct Drive Motor
• Anodized Aluminum Alloy Cylinder
• Automatic Reset Thermal Overload Protector
• Dual-Stage Metal Air Filter
• Aluminum Sand Tray with Vibration Isolators
• Deluxe Dual Compartment Carry Bag
• 3-pc. Inflation Tips Kit
• 25 ft. Quick Connect Extension Hose with Heat Shield
• Gas Station-Style Tire Gun with 200 PSI Gauge
• Dual Battery Clamps with 40-amp Inline Fuse Holder

450P-A Tire Inflation Rates
31" X 10.5" (15psi to 30psi / 2 Min. 10Sec.)
33" X 12.5" (15psi to 30psi / 2 Min. 50 Sec.)
35" X 12.5" (15psi to 30psi / 3 Min. 30 Sec.)

AMP Draw at 150 PSI = 18-Amp

Re: VIAIR Compressor (450P-Automatic)

FJ-Ollie,

Funny I was just reading about this one in Spring 08 Overland Journal. It got good reviews.

Anyone with first-hand experience using this Viair 450P-A?

Re: VIAIR Compressor (450P-Automatic)

I've got one of these which I picked up a couple months back for $299. We used it at the Summit for the first time to air up and were very pleased. It's very quiet, doesn't get super hot, filled the 33s from 20 to 35+psi in a couple of minutes per. I also saw the article in Overland and it influenced my decision. Currently, it is in the nice storage bag but I'm debating a possible installation. I also carry it in my truck in case of emergency so I would need another one if I installed this one in the FJ. An on-board air tank would be nice as well, so I can install an air-horn.

Re: VIAIR Compressor (450P-Automatic)

VIAIA makes a good product. I haven't used these and won't. All the compnents are still in plastic bags and I don't want to tear into those so anyone who buys them knows they are truly brand new.

I had a VIAIR 460C compressor mounted in my FJ for a while while I was having my ExtremeAire rebuilt. I almost left the VIAIR in the FJ and sold the ExtremeAire but decided against it. The ExtremeAire fills the mounting location better than the VIAIR.

I have no doubt these compressors are incredible units and the price I'm asking is a bargain. The person I got them from paid $350 for each of them and I'm just selling them for him. He originally had three but I sold one already. He's not an offroader but was going to use them in each of his work trucks. He had to close the doors on his business this month and is selling stuff off. I told him I knew some people that would probably be interested.

Anyone within 120 miles of Chula Vista, I'll drive to you for drop off. (That means you Douggie...)

Re: VIAIR Compressor (450P-Automatic)

So far, have used mine on three runs. Worked well. Love it because I don't have to deal with refilling the CO2 tank anymore. Thanks FJ-Ollie.
