Re: El Dorado National Forest Route Designation Meetings
Seriously.
I'm amazed at what a boondoggle this whole plan is. What is frightening me is that this is happening for all National Forests not just El Dorado. Until last night I didn't grasp how bad it can become if we aren't proactive in trying to save our trails. Now last night we were the majority in the room but there are large groups (Sierra Club) out there that hate OHV and they have large pocket books and want our trails closed to our use.
It's great that Friends of the Rubicon, Blue Ribbon Coalition, CA4WDC, TLCA are fighting the fight but it's not enough. Each and everyone of us must become educated on what is going on. We must take the time to write comments to the Forest Service and let them know our passion and that we won't roll over. If we want to keep our trails open we must do our part and not leave it to someone else to do. We are all busy but we must make the time since there is so little time to act at this point.
And beyond this issue those of us in California and users that come to California must become educated on CA Senate Bill 742. We need to fight for this, if we lose on Sb 742 we can lose our 8 state OHV parks.
