alternators not warranty :P

So thought I would let everyone in on this since so many of us love the mud, mud puddles and of course creek crossings.......last time I went wheeling was a little while ago and about two weeks ago I took my truck in for alternator noise. Because there was muddy water in the alternator that caused the bushings to go bad its not covered under warranty .....So on a note to self for everyone not just for alternator noises but any repairs make sure to clean your engine and undercarriage before you take it in to the dealer...... sorry for the complaining

Re: alternators not warranty :P

Hmmm...is the alternator above the reported fording depth of the FJ? If it's not, I'd definitely be looking for that warranty replacement. Good luck...alternators are expensive! Of course, maybe Mean Green has a high output replacement...upgrade potential?

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.
