Sooooo.... I am still in for a Thursday some times when ever an exact place and location is decided upon. Actually a Wednesday could work too if I can FJ-pool with Boss73 since I am in SC that day.

Re: Beer night in Oakland/Rockridge area??

Wanna call it Thursday February 14 (Valentines Day)?? Since it's a Thursday I didnt figure it'd be a bid 'date' night, although everyone is certainly welcome to bring dates

Cato's would have better parking, that's on Piedmont Avenue, Oakland.

OK??

You're kidding right?
Not only it is Valentine's day as you mentioned, but the next day is also my other half birthday, so needless to say that for that Thursday, I am out.
Plans have been made already. Sorry.

Re: Beer night in Oakland/Rockridge area??

OK, how about this:

Thursday, Feb 21

Berkeley brewpubs:
* Triple Rock -- new pay parking lot open after 5pm across the street, decent food
* Jupiter -- pay lot within 2 blocks, on Addison/Shattuck, good food, lots of hangout space
* Pyramid -- parking lot on site, decent food, most expensive

Berkeley bar (not much food):
* Albatross - street parking

Oakland Brewpubs:
* Pacific Coast Brewing Company - street parking, but it's downtown Oakland; decent food
* Cato's Ale House - street parking, Piedmont, decent food

So, my analysis suggests either Jupiter or Triple Rock (since last time everyone sneered at Pyramid).

Whaddya think?

Re: Beer night in Oakland/Rockridge area??

nice suggestions. those or the tiki lounge or club mallard are also good, although i probably won't make it up there in time from the south bay. have a few drinks for me, then add some more. merry happiness to all!

Re: Beer night in Oakland/Rockridge area??

Sorry, guys, VD on Thursday was never a big deal to me... doesnt everyone go out the weekend before or after?

Triple Rock does Monkey Head Thursdays. That's the only day they server their 'strong' beer.

I guess I'd be more for Jupiter, Thursday, Feb 21.

OK???

Yay! A plan!

I'll put it on the calendar.

For those who aren't Berkeley-ites, there is a pay lot after 5 pm on ADDISON and SHATTUCK - 1/2 block towards campus from the Scandinavian Design store on the corner.

The pay lot on the left is more expensive than the UC lot on the right - which allows unlimited after-5-pm parking for $3, last I looked...
