Hmmm... I guess no taker on this one... ho well
So unless some one else has something to post on this, I retract myself for this week end.
I'm a taker, and I'm sure others would be too....if you figure out a place. Most people probably are not familiar with trails open during snow season and are waiting for a set spot.

Re: Snow run anyone

Well that is just it, I am not too familiar with what is feasible under snow either and so was hoping for some feedback. So we can either go and discover on our own and take a chance, or if someone know of a spot I will be more then happy to go where ever.

Re: Snow run anyone

I did Mormon Emigrant Trail Road this time last year. It was a lot of fun. I have no way of knowing if there's snow there now though. But if someone can find out, I think that would be a good spot. But I'm only available to go on a Sunday.

Well that trail is one of my suggestion and yes I think there should be snow up there right now. Actually, I am sure there will even be more snow with this kind of weather. I was thinking about going this Sunday the 24th, but the weather forcast looks like it will be ****ty throughout the week end so maybe March 2nd would be a better time to do it.

Well that is what I was affraid off not being sure and not remembering if there were any gates out there on that trail... so once again... unless some one has a better idea I guess the snow run is out and I'll open a new thread for March 2nd at Prairie City. Aside from Pitbull and I no one seemed interested anyway. Sorry Pit... maybe later or if some one else wants to run with it.

FWIW, my preferred method of hitting the snow is on skis and I'm having enough trouble scheduling time to simply do that.

However, there are tons of fire roads around Tahoe that are always open to any vehcile that can negotiate them. They are mainly used by snowmobilers but could easily be handled by an FJ w/snow tires and/or chains, especially after they get tracked up by the snowmobiles.

I'm not familiar with all of these roads, just a couple, but, if you really want to try them out, you can get the info you need from the Forest Service or any snowmobile company in the area.

Re: Snow run anyone

Heh, when I first read the title to this thread I thought is said "show run", as in Cisco's "show running" or "sh run". Anyone know what I am talking about? It's not quite as cool as running your FJ through the snow.

Re: Snow run anyone

HI-YO .. I would love to go but I am not lifted and tires are getting alot of mioles on them and are not what they use to be.

That being said I would be willing to try and go somewhere up there on a trail. I will say that I am definetly interested. I am not sure I can convince the Wife to get up earily and head up there but sounds interesting. I guess as long as we are not going over anything to crazy I would be fine.

On second thought, I could always just get some chains..

I guess I am definetly on the fence...
