newbie in NorCal

Hows it going everyone? Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I just purchased my 2008 FJ Cruiser about 4 days ago and love it. My name is Bryant by the way. I do have a question about my FJ though. It came with a valet key when I bought it. My question is, whats the point of a valet key when the glove box doesn't lock? Maybe its just me, or am I missing something? Anyways, hope everyones having a good week so far.

Re: newbie in NorCal

Welcome, Casper! No idea about the "valet key" - I think you're right...

But whatever - it's a great truck...

Hope you'll come to the East Bay Happy Hour on Feb 21 in Berkeley - there's another NorCal thread on it, so look it up.

Sandi

Congrats and Welcome Aboard!

I never bring my valet key along and have it stored at home.

Re: newbie in NorCal

Welcome to the forum!

A valet key is used so that you don't leave your regular keys. Most people have their house key and vehicle key on the same ring. If a valet has the house key on the ring, they can make a copy of the key and then get the address from the registration on the vehicle. Now they have access to the house without having to break in
