I would personally avoid going to Custom Truck Accessories (Custom Truck - Truck Accessories and More) off of sunrise (new location)for any type of work. After installing somebody elses lift perfectly fine they installed mine with the springs indexed the wrong way causing the upper arm to knock on the spring at full articulation.
So I took it back and they tried to say that they all do that, especially the tacomas (and the FJ is different the the tacoma but i didn't even go there). I started discussing that they should not do that and that they need to indexed correctly (bottom of coil facing rear of vehicle). Anyways...4 hours later they tell me its done, I go inspect and the coil is in correctly.
They take it for a test drive and tell me it is good to go....i go and perform my own test drive in there parking lot and the rotor backing plates are all f-ed up and scratching the hell out of the rotors. They had to put it back on the rack a total of 3 times before they fixed it.
After all was said and done i go back to work and when i get out my tire is flat. Being the overprepared person i am i re inflate it and drive home. The next morning.....flat. I look around the tire and can not find anything that would have pierced it. So i re-inflate and listen...oddly the valve stem is leaking air. Apparently someone had decided it would be fun to unscrew my valve stem just enough to cause a slow leak....no i can't be certain who did what....but i sure as hell know who the last people who touched my tires were.
Looking at the work they did the other day i also found they they decided not to a cotter pin on one of the bolts in there. They are permanently on my
$#!t list.

Sorry to hear of the issue you had esty with Custom Truck Accessories. While they installed mine without issue (I gave them the OME lift living post) I'm surprised of how they treated you.
Back on topic; I haven't found a place I'd endorse for service other than the dealership, Maita Toyota/ in Sacramento.

as far as custom work. dentonis custom truck works in stockton. they are a great shop. have done every one of my customized vehicle. they will work with you and have top notch techs in the back. suspension, exhaust, accessories. dentonis has a few locations. as far as 4x4 stuff goes their locations are: dentonis custom truck works in stockton, pickup outfitters in lodi, valley truck works in stockton, and their permatech shop in stockton. i would recommend any of them, however the custom truck works does higher end custom work. they do all the $15k lifts and stuff like that. each shop has their own niche and feel to it. they will get you to the right one.

Family Adventure Outfitters (FAO) for upgrade mods; Lifts, bumpers, racks, etc. Neil, the owner, is a good guy. He owns a couple of FJ40s and off roads with them.

I think if i would have gone in there with the same information you had brought in things probably would have gone better....oh well. Next set of installs I'm doing myself :-D.
I also give my vote to Maita, I purchased my FJ there and they have a great service team.
I would avoid Folsom lake, I have had issues with them on a separate Toyota Vehicle.
