where are u norcal?

given the fact that we have so many folks "registered" in the norcal section, yet we've only seen/heard from a select few on the threads, regional forums, and trails, it's time for you to post your best excuse for not being present. "bueller? bueller?"

i'll go first.

"work, nocturnal activity, and the consumption of distilled spirits has greatly hampered my inability to contribute to the forums in recent days. that shall change come summer time unless i am still engaging in a multiude of said activities."

Re: where are u norcal?

I think that one of the issue is the fact that there is not much going on with rides in this off season. I think we will see more activity in the spring, but yes a little more activity would be cool, especially when we try to decided on things like meetings, stickers, trail work and so on...

Re: where are u norcal?

Yes, it's the dredge of the winter duldroms... Everyone is dying for spring to get here!

Mark and I both feel like we dont do nearly enough runs. We've been tied up with Abbey's classes (our pit bull) most Saturdays since last June. We've got two tests/certifications to get her through, then we can relax. I expect we'll do a lot more runnin this year than last.

As far as the board, I'm too busy during the day at work to contribute much, and it's pretty inconvenient to do afterwards (we're not always home).

Hope to see more of everybody in the Spring.

And at Beer Night tomorrow!

New guy here...new '07 FJ (gift to myself this Valentine's Day). Live in Elk Grove (Sac County), work in Vacaville. I read the board every day, but try to use discretion in posting so I don't come across as a dunma$$...

And we don't need to wait for good weather to go get dirty, do we?

Re: where are u norcal?

Welcome Motogp, I am in Galt, so we are practically neighboors.
As far as getting dirty earlier then spring, I am with you. I have mentioned a get together to Prairie city or a snow run to the Emigrant trail, but not too many takers so far. Of course I think this week end is out with this bad weather coming through but in the near future... so stay tune.
Also I think we have enough people out here in the central valley to maybe meet and go for a beer one of these Friday nights maybe? How about it Esty, Briman and the others...?

Re: where are u norcal?

Hey Motogp, per your avatar something tells me you like to go shooting... maybe? I go sometime to the Sac valley range and was thinking about getting into long range myself but have not made the move yet.

Re: where are u norcal?

We've been to Brew it Up and Rubicon Brewery (which are within sight of each other) in Sacramento. Alain, what would be the brewery/pub of choice for the Sacramento area? We've been to a few of the Sacramento festivals, but have not spent much time investigating the pubs. Thanks - A

Re: where are u norcal?

A fun one to go to would be Fanny Ann in the Old Sac area. Not that I spend much time out there at all, nor that it has super great beer selections, but this one is worth checking out just for its atmosphere and scenary.

We're taking a group of 10 neighbors out shooting in Marin next Wednesday. It's ladies night, and they've wanting to go for a while.

We need to work out an FJ triathlon . A day of trails, shooting, and beer!
