They must have cleared the code cuz now when it starts up I just get a check engine light and then the other three come on.. VSC, VSC-TEAC, SLippery cars
I am thinking about looking at it this weekend and trying to see what I can find. I am also thinking about taking it some where else to have someone else look at it..
Goog thing I got the gas tank back in the old FJ40 maybe I will get the brakes working and drive it..
Well the dealership said that some wire must have been chewed through by a mouse or something and that they have to remove the plenum to get to the wire and its going to be like 650 to fix!!! ARGGGGGGG!! and of course I have to come up with the money. I am going to call my insurance to se if anything is covered.. oh well at least its nothing that just broke.. I guess that what you get for living in the mountains ...
Sounds like a load of CRAP to me. How would a mouse get in there? Make them prove it. BTW, you can clear the trouble codes with the scanguage.

Yeah it does sounds like crap, but I do live in the mountains and there alot of little things. I believe they did clear the code but I think if there is a problem like a sensor went bad (or mice got to wires) then I believe it will keep throwing a code to the computer.. But I am not expert on this. Hey Wes, can the scanguage read code?? I am believe they can since they are able to erase the code. Maybe buying a a scanguage might be a good way to start, get the code and see what is going on myself..
Hey Boss, is it not ironic about you raving about how great technology is but at the same time having issues with it all in your car? Sorry to hear the missap, but maybe also consider this... after I had mine for a couple of month I went and got an aftermarket locking gas cap. The day after I installed it, same thing happened to me, all the lights went on. Turn out to be a tiny gas vapor leak at the gas cap. I cahnged back to the original and after a fill up and a few miles, the lights went off. This car is equiped with a very sensitive gas vapor leak sensor and if there could be any leak at all that could make the sensor think you leaking gas, it will go on. If you want we could trade cap for a while and see what happens, maybe your seal wore out or you have a ding/scratch on the lip of the gas tank inlet? But yes, mice or others can do damage as well. I had a cat ones ripping out all my hood insulation and he made a nest in the fan shroud. Needless to say that he got a rude awakening when I started the engine. Me as well. That cat screatch like crazy while being hit by the fan. I stopped the engine right away wondering what had happened and I saw the cat jumped out from under my front wheel fender, ran accross the yard to hit the fence straight on. I guess he was a little dissoriented. Anyway... Like you said, moutain life is different.
Yeah I know I shoudl learn to take the good with the bad..
THis just sucks.. I am worried about driving her alot cuz if the lights but I know your right Hi-YO, there are alot of sensors on these things and it could take very little to make them act up.. Just like on eof the worst times for this to happen... But then again when is it ever a good time for this stuff to happen..
Hey Boss.. if you want to see what scangauge says about those lights (if any) I got one on my truck and we can meet up somewhere (I work in Cupertino) to check the code..
I would definitely get a second opinion! They don't call them "STEALERSHIPS" for nothing!
