Re: Need help finding a place to live that is cheap

Ukiah is the Same as Eureka, NOT ! Ukiah is inland ( very hot in summer
months), Eureka is on the coast ( alot of fog ). There are alot more toothless
people in Ukiah than there is in Eureka,(proximity to Lake county I would guess) Cheaper housing in Ukiah, but I wouldn't live there and I was Born there. And as others have said, Eureka is way way too far from a major metro land area if you need that kind of fix. Good luck

As a Placerville resident for a long time now, I think you should give Pville a try. There are lots of wheeling places and you're half way between Tahoe and Sac town. An hour to slopes, 35 to shopping..
From my house its a short trip to Stumpy Meadows and bit farther to the Rubicon (mecca).
If you want to live in the woods PM me, I've got a nice 2 year old house on the market.

For the love of God, RUN! Tell them you're moving to a foreign country.

I was between tours last year so had NO excuse and got stuck on a Grand Jury all of January. One day was particularly funny because one Monday we were hearing the case of Brian Bilbray, a local politician.
I'd just been to a party with him the previous Saturday night. He wasn't out of control but we were all tipping a few. You should have seen the look on his face when we came filing into the courtroom! Ha ha! Priceless. I gave him a little wink letting him know it was cool.

As for where to live, I'd contact the local chambers of commerce for a relocation package. They have ALL the demographic, economic, etc. info you'll need. Good luck! I choose Chico but that's because it's a college town. And Smokin' Mo's BBQ is there. SLO, too, has one but it's expensive to live there.

M
I second Chico. Bidwell Park and close to any 4x4 area you want to go. Plus think youve got Sierra Nevada brewing co. right there. They have their spring ale that is only released in Chico. (priorities)
