Sun's out Lets go Wheelin'

Hey FJ'rs,

Spring is here and its time to get the rigs dirty again. Weekend of April 5-6. Overnighter to Cow Mountain. Looks as though BZ might be able to head up early on friday evening to block us some campsites. If not your on your own for camping. Get there early because its first come first serve. I will be heading up early on Saturday Morning so if you want me to reserve some spots I can but I will need a head count of those who are camping. There isn't drinkable water at the campsites so bring your own.

Red Mountain Campground (south): In Ukiah, exit U.S. 101 South at Talmage Road, then 1.5 miles east to Eastside Road. Turn right and proceed 0.3 mile to Mill Creek Road. Follow Mill Creek Road 5 miles to staging area, veer right where road forks (there is a directional sign) and continue 2.5 miles to Red Mountain Campground. 10 units, toilets, barbecue grates, and picnic tables. There is no potable water at this time.

Also this was posted by Puckerfactor for the TTORA trip going the same weekend:

Re: Sun's out Lets go Wheelin'

I'm down but considering there still a bunch of snow, we'd have to go south, or north. I'm not too familiar with any trails over there.

I went up to the Yuba River yesterday. Where it crosses Hwy 20 east of Yuba City.
What an awesome place to wheel! Many times batter than Greenhorn (I think it was legal. I saw another pickup and four quadrunners there.

Hey Guys,

Anyone know about the weather in Slickrock this time of year?
Plenty of camping for a overnighter and looks like some fun trails.

Thanks

Far as i recall Slickrock is at 6000ft+ eleveation. Probably still going to find a LOT of snow. I would try to keep it at less then 3000ft. Although Gold lake is still tempting me!

Re: Sun's out Lets go Wheelin'

Slickrock would have a lot of snow still. How about Cow Mountain? There is a camp gound and may hold me over until the snow melts.

Cow Mountain sounds fun. I have never actually been there yet. Mix challenge looks fun too if I had a diaper to poop in once i got there. Looks like I would be walking around with beyond pucker factor brown shorts Anyone else up for Cow Mountain overnighter?
