Got home Sunday night and had a call from the Alameda County Sheriff's Department that my 4runner had been found. So Monday morning we headed off to bring Stomper back home. At this point all we knew is that he had tires, a straight body and all his windows. That was all the information they would release. We didn't know if he would run or if anything had happened at all or if he had just been taken for a joy ride. When we arrived at the tow yard to pick him up it was a shock to see the condition he was in.
His tires and rims were gone, replaced with four mismatched tires on white steelie rims, basically the spare tires from four different vehicles. His front brush guard, winch and lights were gone, his gas door had been ripped off (literally), and the worst part of all THEY RATTLE CANNED HIS TOP ORANGE/RUST!!! Not even a decent tape job, there is overspray on all the windows and the rubber plus they had his rear window down so a lot of overspray is in the back interior.
The new roof light bar and four new lights were also taken and both license plates were gone.
As for the interior....
The stereo, cb, and my nav system are all gone. The plastic trim around the shifter is gone, the carpet has been torn out from the drivers feet area, there are holes in the dash and glove box, some tears in the head rests and then theres the trash!!!!
Where do I start, to say he looked more like a dumpster than a vehicle would be an understatement! I can't describe all that was stuffed into him, but the only area you could even fit into was the drivers seat, the rest was full of trash, stolen items, tools, info on other stolen vehicles, stolen credit cards, checks, pink slips and drivers licenses. All I can say is....look at the pictures!
So after assessing the damage and paying $265.00 to get Stomper released we checked the fluids (of course no gas at all), got some gas, put air in the tires and headed for home. Oh yeah, did I mention that they had removed the drivers side windshield wiperblade and thrown it in the vehicle.
This is what Stomper looked like when he was taken:

This is what he looks like now:

I have NO IDEA what the goo on the drivers door was....but it was NASTY

You can kind of see the "nice" paint job on the roof and the overspray on the windows.
And now for the interior:
Realize that when he was stolen there was NOTHING inside....So here's a little of what he came home with.

Here's a little more garbage and you can see the holes that they put in the dash.
Here's a picture of the damage to the center console, the missing stereo and cb and the torn out carpet....can't figure out that one either....OH and did I mention the SMELL.

Here's the quality paint job on the roof, you can see the overspray on the interior and the wiper, the picture is taken after I cleaned the window off.
Well, at least he's home and I can't wait to start over again and get him back to the rig he was....and more, Treknwil's slow build continues with just a few set backs.
The good thing in all of this is when they recovered Stomper the thief had been using him as his personal vehicle and had left all his tools and equipment to steal other vehicles inside of him, so there's one thief out there with a lot less "tools of the trade".
