Re: Got the FJ Detailed...
$300 seems to be a fair price if you understand what detailing is all about. I have a grand in equipment and time is money. Go price out some of the 3m products, wet compounds. wool pads and quality wax and all the prep time between the washing to the final finish. I detail porches and better for resale starting at $800. These cars will resale much better and easily pay for the labor involved.

Boss, I was trying to offer a useful service report; I didn't expect the snarkiness, thanks. I bought the FJC as a tow vehicle, not a mall car.
I've had the FJC for three years - it was due some conditioning and shampooing. Since I had neck/spinal surgery, it's not something I can do myself.
Finally, you must have missed my earlier post -
Sandi
Sorry Sandi I don't follow your posts..
and I understand your post was being helpful.. I was simply stating my Opinion which I thought we could do on here.

Thanks for the apology. I've been here since *2006* - you can totally state your opinion, I'm not particularly thin-skinned.
Just don't call my FJC a "mall car." THAT's not stating an opinion - that's name calling, and it just ain't right.

$300 makes sense. I purchased my own buffer, polish, clay, wax, etc. It takes me ~6 hours to do only the outside. Time is money, so if I factor in my time and money that I spent on all this crap, then $300 is a fair price.
That's what I thought. He started the job at ~ 7 am, and finished after 6 pm. Assuming an hour for lunch, and that's 10 hours. $30 an hour is reasonable, I think...

Although, when I got my first pins tripes, I brought it to Ducky's in San Mateo and the clay/polish/wax'd my rig for $150. Only the outsdie though...
Yeah, but what is there to do in San Mateo while they work on it and I am FJC-less? It's 45 minutes away, and Alameda is 10...

Ok, everybody play nice..
Boss: shouldn't you be boiling water and grabbing sheets about now?
Quit giving Sandi a hard time, it NOT a mall car... more of a mall truck really..
Sandi, sorry for the panty twisting and all, but don't you have to get it dirty before you clean it?
(Seriously Sandi, I am sorry to hear about your back. Ann has been in bed since Sunday morning with disc pain.)
