Thumbs up FJ's in New Jersey, update

Just got back from GALAXY TOYOTA, in Eatontown, NJ. The Sales Rep. there was kind enough to invite me over first thing this morning to check out their first FJ to arrive even though it was pre-sold.
BLACK CHERRY, A/T, SCAB, Opt. package #2 A little over $29k.
Got a chance to look it over, inside and out. Not to mention having the pleasure of taking it for a quick spin around the lot. Handles so much better than I could have imagined! 10x's better than any jeep wrangler that's for sure.

Over all I was very happy with it, my only real gripe was that toyota made the switch away from BF Goodrich A/T's to a bland highway suv tire. It really does take away from the over all look. Bad move, but an easy fix I guess.

Now I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I really have to give all the props to my sale rep DEBRA DANDURAND! She went out of her way to provide me with all info she had on hand about the fj, and with no pressure at all, not to mention that they are not marking up! If you live in that area, I would highly recommend stopping by to talk with her, really great service, far better than any other dealer I've been to in my area, and I've been to them all.

Re: FJ's in New Jersey, update

i've spent some time at galaxy in the past weeks trying to answer the ultimate questions: do i want it? can i afford it? i wanted to see how loud it would be at high speed and they had no problem with me and my wife going for a listen on route 18 at 80mph. that was nice of them and overall my time there has been positive.

the only slightly sketchy thing is they pinstripe and put on plastic door bumpers on EVERY CAR for a dealer markup of $450. i'm sure it's easy to negotiate away and when i thought it was just an fj thing i was understanding. but to see them doing it on EVERY CAR is a bit over the top.

FIRST POST OVER.

Galaxy stopped their $2500 local market increase?

Hold the phone - you gotta buy pinstripes? And they are below msrp?

My deal was similar. $1,500 below MSRP w/ pinstripe. I can't imagine there being much more room left in the deal. There was only 4 left on the lot. Who knows? Maybe they get a truckload in this week...

Enjoying my FJ thus far.
