Bald Eagle State Forest

The husband and I are heading up to a friend's cabin in Bald Eagle State Forest next weekend. According to this map there are several "drivable trails" in the forest. Anybody ever been there? I was there a few months ago, but it was a girls' weekend, so not much four-wheeling going on.

Re: Bald Eagle State Forest

Update - With some good snow-capable shoes, Bald Eagle is a great place for snow driving. There are miles and miles of dual-use (car/snowmobile) roads. We went out yesterday morning on the snowmobiles to check things out. In the afternoon I went out with the FJ. There was about 12 inches of snow on the road. Of course, running the stock Dunlops, I didn't get far. I could have pushed along for a while but I was alone and didn't have cell signal in that particular area. So I turned around and came back. Better safe than sorry!

Re: Bald Eagle State Forest

Just saw this post...I am from State College ( nearby) and have cruised those roads...nice views in the fall and a cool place to go to see wildlife in the spring but not really wheeling trails- more like great scenic drives.
You can also find a bunch or roads in Poe Valley\Paddy and Bear Meadows natural area.Miles of roads -sometimes you don't ever see anyone up there when out.
There are a couple fun mud holes out in Bear Meadows in an area they call the "kettle" I think it is off of Treaster Kettle road.
If you can still find a way in, there is a great lookout on the top of center hall mountain- they call big rock.
Black Moshanon also has miles of roads to ride...
