Quality Windshield replacement - Boston area

Yes...it finally happened. My windshield cracked. I've read horror stories about the mess some windshield guys make doing FJ replacements. I'm looking for a recommendation where I can take my SunFusion.

Sorry if this is a well worn path...I've been away for a while.

How big is the crack? I had mine repaired for $50 at the local Safelite. All that remains is the dot of adhesive.

I went to Auto Glass Professionals: J.N. Phillips Auto Glass Company in Canton, the installer I had was very knowledgeable, he does all the work for Boch Toyota. You should call your local Toyota dealer and ask them where they send their customers.

The crack is about 18 inches running from the middle of the driver's windshield wiper left to the edge of the windshield.

Hey Ruebarb,

I asked my salesguy at Woburn Toyota and he wasn't helpful. I'll check with Ira in Danvers and look into a J.N. Phillips location closer to me on the North Shore. Thanks.

No offense, and perhaps the wrong place to say this, but I was wondering who buys at Woburn. When I was shopping there, they were the biggest d*cks. No surprise that your salesguy wasn't helpful.

Stealth got his back in the days when finding the FJ you wanted was like striking oil in your backyard. My guess is it had little to do with who the dealer was....just that they had the truck

Certainly not my experience at Woburn Toy. Whereas the sales guy at Ira Danvers was a jerk. Like Bostonian said, I 'ordered' my SunFusion in Dec '05. Woburn took my order, asked for a deposit but didn't make fuss when I refused and delivered my FJ about a month after promising it. At that time I'd say that was a great experience.

I just think they are a small dealership compared to Ira and Boch, so the bigger guys use their volume to their advantage. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Quality Windshield replacement - Boston area

Glad you had a better experience than I. They're 5 minutes from my house, but I ended up going for the Boch experience... which is a good 45 minutes away. Wasn't so much the price issue as the tude.
