Dealerships are soooo annoying. I pre-ordered my FJ in December with Dealer #1. Was told I was number one on the waiting list. Then I hear 'my configuration' won't be in until the end of April, though a few other configurations will arrive earlier. This weekend Dealer #2 tells me I just missed out on a MT Sun Fusion by a couple hours - somebody else bought it. I even saw it in the holding lot near my house and called dealerdude. He said he'd get it prepped and I could drive it the next day. Calls me twice next day "...come on down right now...." and "...sorry dude it's sold..."
Now the latest email from my salesdude at Dealer #1 is quoting mid to late May for the arrival of my FJ. "...We can only report what Toyota tells us, and sometimes they shift on us..."
Anyone else getting this kind of run around from dealers.
NOTICE: Any dealers on this board in or around Eastern Massachusetts that have a loaded Sun Fusion MT or AT message me here and you'll have a sale as soon as I can get to you.
Re: Pre-Ordered in December but am still waiting ....
I was able to get on the bus... I got to choose my color (Black) , and transmission (MT) and as long as I wanted UPII I was good to go. I had no controll over any other options. I was expecting a cruiser with the kitchen sink attached.. I was surprised, only add on was a roof rack, arm rests and carpet mats... with the exception of the mats... I'm happy, I worked out a deal with my dealer to "trade the mats" for rubber ones when they become available... The dealer ordered rock rails for me without asking, figuring i'd want them, they were in stock at the time in boston. I got the truck i wanted in the end, without special ordering... (i was on the waiting list since jan as well)
Re: Pre-Ordered in December but am still waiting ....
I had the same problem with my dealer. I got some good advice on the forum - go to the Toyota web site and find every dealer around you. They all have email addresses. Send an email asking if they have what you want on the lot or coming in. I sent out a dozen emails and got 3 hits in 4 hours - after waiting for 6 weeks with my first dealer. If I stayed with him - I'd probably be waiting till May or June. I picked up my FJ last week. Hang in there - give the emails a try. Plus the guys that handle the internet traffic seem to know more than the bums that answer the phone.
