Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip August 2006
BTW - finally got to test drive an FJ. Woburn Toyota tossed me the keys and said come back when you're ready. Off I went for over an hour by myself. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!! I'm sold. Now just have to wait until the vehicle I preferenced arrives, now estimated to be the first or second week of May.
Me too mekinac! I gotta have the Air Dam and Off Road lights. January '07 is just too long to wait.
Toyota Supply Management and/or Legal Depts are killing me. I hope the aftermarket can save us on this one. Although if companies thought Toyota would fill this demand then it's likely no one is working on this accessory.
Connections anyone? The screw size and dimensions on the OEM rack are easy to get. We just need to know if there is already a plug in the PIO racks. Fab to production on something like this couldn't take more than 60 days.
Yeah, I was pretty shocked with the air dam and lights date. I want it asap after I get my truck. Hopefully these are estimates and subject to change. Or the aftermarket steps in and picks up the slace.
Has anyone determined if the wiring harness connections are terminated in the roof under either the right or left front roof rack attachment points for the roof rack lights, when they become available?
I don't think Toyota fully realized the potential for equipment on or in the roof during design. Maybe Toyota will modify the wiring harness to include an aerial for the Sirius or XM radio options. Also, wiring in the ceiling for sunroof and/or small console for map lights (and digital indicators for outside temp and compass). As you might tell, I'm not too enthralled with the trio of gauges on the dash. I had a Mitsubitsi Montero in the late 80's that had something like that and thought it was just plain bling, IMO.

What I have been told, just hearsay so I don't have anything really to fall back on........
But the original supplier and Toyota had disagreements in their contract, so it was voided. Toyota was looking for a new manufactur for this item. So until they (Toyota and the supplier) can agree on the design and start supplying them, it will take this long.
And I have always said..... "Don't let facts get in the way of a good story!!!!"
A cross between quasimoto and the elephant man..... But only the good parts!!!!!
Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

I took the protection tabs off both front roof rack anchor points and NO wiring harness or any type of electrical conduit exist! Must either drill or ??????????????

I believe this is on the forum, and Roosterdude supplied the answers about a month or so ago, search under roof lights
It wasn't an easy search, but here is the wiring diagram that includes the roof. It appears the wires for the roof rack lights will snake through the left rack rail from the middle position forward to the wind dam holding the lights.
