ARB Bull Bar - Illegal??

Was checking out the Gotham City Land Cruiser site (www.gclcny.com) and this is their headline:

IMPORTANT NEWS: A bill has been introduced in New York State that would PROHIBIT the use of any BRUSH GUARD (bull bar, grille guard, winch bumper etc we imagine) on PUBLIC ROADS IN NEW YORK STATE! This is for real!

Anybody in NY heard more on this? I really want one but frequent NY enough that this would make me pass.

Glad I live in Cali.

Hopefully this isn't a future trend elsewhere?

wouldn't this bill just make it illegal for ny registered vehicles?just like the in the southwest states, tinted windows are legal but i don't think anyone would get ticketed for just driving through a state that the tint is illegal.same logic goes for states that only require 1 license plate (mi) and most others require 2.

Re: ARB Bull Bar - Illegal??

There's a strong move toward pedestrian safety standards; helping people stay alive after being hit by a vehicle. Consists of things like bumper height, how flexible the hood is, etc. These standards would help motorcyclists too.

It's big in Europe, and coming to North America. Since it is not about personal safety but rather the safety of others, it will be difficult to resist.

I did a search before posting and didn't find it. Not trying to rehash but it was news to me.

so when are they pulling semis off the road?.. because I can garuntee a bullbar is one hell of alot safer than a semi truck... people got nothing better to do than ***** about the dumbest thing.. Dump trucks? 90 year old ladies? 16 year old kids? and they are worried about bull bars? give it a brake.. And I knowing the roads are dangerouse have EVERY right to build my car to take an impact and protect my family... be it with armor plating or a full car external crash cage.. this country is slowly going comunist..
