Philly area dealers?

Hey folks. Just wondering what dealers some of you may have used and what your experience was like? Trying to stay away from the shysters if I can I'm hoping I can find a place that will give me a decent deal without me having to haggle like i'm buying souveneers in morocco...

I built my FJ online, just basic with option C, and it sent a request for more info to Conicelli in springfield, because they're the closest one I know of to me in Drexel Hill. I got about 10 emails today, all cheapy auto-generated form emails, some of em being the same one. I replied to the first but never got a response, just more form mails guess I really need to call, they must be too old fashioned for this interweb thing...

I bought two cars from Conicelli. I can't say anything bad about them but nothing good either. I tried to buy from Tri-county but all their FJ's were loaded with mall hopper ammenities pushing their asking price well over 30k. I ended up buying from Faulkner Toyota. Gave me a very fair price and better yet, got me the exact model I wanted. BTW, I did the whole transaction online.

Re: Philly area dealers?

I got my FJ from Conicelli Toyota in Conshohocken, PA. The only person I would speak with there is Dan McDonald. He's one of the sales managers. They are a high volume dealership and they are always looking to move cars. I called 14 dealerships in the area and Conicelli was far below everyone else. This is the second car that my family has bought from them and they've been very true to their word. I got mine at an incredible deal and then they gave me the new college grad rebate of another $400 (you need a copy of your diploma to get that). It probably helped that I was also getting mine at the very end of the month and right after a big weekend for them. I would definately call Dan though and ask him what the best he can do for you is. The number there is (610) 825-7128. If you would like a referral name to drop just give me a PM. Good luck and enjoy your new ride!

Re: Philly area dealers?

Cool thanks, maybe I'll give Conshy a try. I'm hoping to get out for some test drives this or next weekend, but I don't expect to be ready to buy till around March. Just doing some homework and dreaming till I get the cash saved up. I want to try and buy it cash instead of financing. According to KBB my '03 Element is worth around 9k, so I'm hoping to get the rest under 15K if possible, 24ish all together

Re: Philly area dealers?

I got mine from Champion Toyota on Castor Avenue in Northeast Philly. Those guys were just amazing - they worked with me on financing, and threw in the Gold Extended Warranty to sweeten the package. A+ in my book.

Re: Philly area dealers?

Tri-County toyota here. Be warned, they are real sharks in there. I paid $1500 under invoice for a '07 with up1, cq, & floormats. Took me 3 weeks, and 3 seperate visits including walking out 2 times to get that killer deal though.
Best advice, test drive, then do everything online, you won't have to haggle with salespeople trying to wear you down and you can have a couple of toyo dealers in the area compete for your business.

Re: Philly area dealers?

Thanks folks. I'm planning to finally buy in about 2 weeks

I tried Conicelli in springfield first just because they're closeby, and yeah the computer generated emails got old fast. After about 500 over the last 2 months they finally stopped. I did do a test drive there though, and the guy was real cool.. just handed me the keys and said "have fun, bring it back in 1 piece". He didn't even ask to come along and said right off the bat that if I'm looking it up so much online I probably know way more than he does. So I got to drive it all over. I told him in advance there's no possible way for me to buy at the time since I didn't have the money at all, but I really wanted to test drive one. I got no pressure or anything, just a bunch of emails because I submitted the request through Toyota's site and I guess I got stuck in their database.

So since the guy was cool I'll go back to him and see what they have to offer. I'm also going to use Fitzgerald Auto Malls New and Used Car Dealership Maryland - Pennsylvania - Florida - Washington DC - Virginia as a bargaining chip and say I was going to order online from them, but if you can give me a decent enough price here and now we'll have a deal. Also at the time (mid feb) he said he had no info about the TTSE other than coming soon, but he said they would probably get a couple.. hopefully they'll have one when I'm ready
