anyone here have a base model (NO packages)?

Dealer is saying this region needs at least one package, and cant get Rear Diff Lock as a non-package option.

There's a very low percentage of FJs produced in the base configuration. Most are reserved for fleet sales.

It may be true that your dealer's region has no vehicles in that configuration incoming in the near future.

All I have on mine is the conv. package. Nothing special and it did come with the rear locking diff. I really enjoy the power windows and cruise control.

I know that I am NOT in your region (Florida), but I have seen only a handful, maybe one out of 250 or so that come in as base models. These were all '07 models, as I have not seen an '08 base yet. I don't think that SET will be getting any, or if so, they will be as rare as hen's teeth! Much more scarce than a base '07 would be.

I understand they are rare at dealerships but what about ordering one, is that restricted or limited too?

Re: anyone here have a base model (NO packages)?

I ordered my base model last year. The M/T comes with the rear locker standard but you need to buy a package to get it with the A/T. It took about 2 1/2 months to get here and the dealer told me he could have sold it within an hour of arrival.

Re: anyone here have a base model (NO packages)?

i got a base model only thing the dealer did was a tow hitch. A lot of useless information comes from the dealer plus sticker prices and optoins have rediculous prices. they did have to order it and i was lucky it was only a couple towns away i got it with 92 miles on it , it took a week. ihave upraded every thing myself much cheaper and to my specific liking.
