Re: Tolland state forest trail run 4/5 if anyones interested.

Ok the run is 4/5 were going to meet around 11-11:30 ish on school house rd i believe its the road right after tolland town hall slash post office. The trail will probably have some snow on it possible some ice. There is a nice hill climb that will be ok to go up for most everyone if theres not much snow. But if there is snow and ice on the hill it would be nice maybe if a nice lifted fj or only the fjs could make it up and leave the jks at the bottom hehe. And also there is water crossings not sure of the depth last year both times we went up water was probably 35 inches tops. So if you dont have a scuba mod you might need to change fluids, but that should not stop anyone from going. Lets see what else there will be some rocky spots a poser spot to take pictures. I have pictures on the jk forum if you would like to look i might be able to get the thread.

This trail is a little difficuilt for a totally stock rig. If you have tires will be easier also lift even easier. I would rate this trail or the whole area as a 3.5 in the summer maybe a 4.5-5 now that its a bit of ice on the trail. Think that we have 6-7 jks going and stig is going so that will make 2 fjs so far.

Re: Tolland state forest trail run 4/5 if anyones interested.

ok so let me see here are some links of some pics of tolland were we went wheeling. Dont know if any of these are going to work.

Tolland 11.3.07 - JK-Forum.com - The Ultimate Jeep JK Wrangler Bulletin Board

Tolland Nov 24 - JK-Forum.com - The Ultimate Jeep JK Wrangler Bulletin Board

If these dont work could someone tell me how to get threads from another site on to this one.

Re: Tolland state forest trail run 4/5 if anyones interested.

well if it was my choice we would go a bit earlier but its just so everyone has a chance to get there some people are coming from over hour to 2 hours away so it wouldn't really be fair to everyone if we started at like 9 and they had to be on the road by like 7 did those links work??

Re: Tolland state forest trail run 4/5 if anyones interested.

Yeah, the links worked. Looks like a nice area. It's straight up Rt 8 for me out of Woodbury, CT. Probably about 1h-15 min to 1h-1/2. I talked to capt.rick and he's going to get back to me. I thought it was Tolland CT but it's actually closer for me. The dealership I buy my trucks from is about half the way up in Torrington, CT. Hope to make it sounds like an enjoyable run.

Re: Tolland state forest trail run 4/5 if anyones interested.

hmm well its water crossings but if you go slow you shouldnt get muddy. I know there is one spot were you can get muddy but that is a choice. I would say dont bomb through and you wont get muddy. But i cant promise anything because i have not driven up there on the actual trail so i cant say for sure alls i can say is if you take it easy through the muddy sections you should come out with minmal mud. Why you worried about the pullies??
