Re: Long Island Beach Meet

Anyone wanna at least meet at Gilgo say around 12:30-1pm. Hopefully if Gerry or someone else familiar with the beach thing is there we can see how soft the sand is too! If the beach isn't feasible or nobody wants to burn the 1/2 tank getting down there (JK)....we can always do a central meet somewhere, maybe a Dunkin for some coffee and check out the winter mods people have done!

Re: Long Island Beach Meet

Drew

I think the weather is going to be bad on Saturday.
Perhaps it's not such a great weekend to do a meetup.

The best place, if you have a permit already, is to go to Democrat Point. Reason being, after you are done wheeling, there are air stations at the entrance so you can air up fast (provided you have the right hose hookup). Also, there will be more vehicles around, just in case you get stuck.

One thing about the rain, it packs the sand down making it easier to wheel on

BTW, last Saturday I got my permit and it was a zoo at the park office. I wouldn't wait till the last minute to get your permit!

I did see a Black Diamond with a ARB bull bar and a interesting light bar on the roof and spoiler?? in the back. Didn't have a chance to speak to him. Anyone on the forum?? People were drooling on my fj Last time out, this guy in a Tacoma almost hit me taking a closer look while I was on my way out.

Re: Long Island Beach Meet

I need to do a beach run soon
I want to get the new suspension and tires out for a little wheelin'
Also have to set the tire deflators I just picked up
However the weather doesn't look good for outdoor gatherings

If I am over that way on Sat I may just take a quick run down the beach but not sure if and when i may be in that area this weekend

I may actually be in the Smith Point area over the weekend so I may pick up the Sufolk County 4x4 permit also

I do want to check up with Gerry to see how his lights are mounted to the ARB. Gerry did you drill out the holes to mount the lights or did you have someone else do it?

I didn't do the install myself, but I think the holes are pre drilled.

Guys, let me know if you want to do a quick run tomorrow. I'll check my messages tomorrow morning for possible noontime run.

Re: Long Island Beach Meet

How about 12:30 meet at Gilgo? I have no clue wher ethe entrance to democrat point is. Is that the one by Robert Moses or is it right off Ocean Pkwy.

THE RAIN IS DONE!!! The temp is warm.......get ur arses out and let's scope the beach! LOL

I think I am going to head down to Gilgo around 12:30 regardless to see if anyone shows. I'll wait til about 1ish then probably cruise around Ocean Pkwy or something along those lines.
