Maybe I'm asking on the wrong thread (Need 4WD Shop)

I need a good 4wd shop in Nassau, Long Island. I owned two Jeeps previously (a CJ5 and a CJ7) and I had a good shop out in Suffolk, but I moved and now live an hour away from the shop.
I need someone to weld in headers and install a lift.

If you trust the shop you worked with in Suffolk, it might be worth it to go to them even if it's far away.

I live in Western Suffolk and couldn't find a good shop nearby. I got my lift installed in Bridgeport CT (yes I went that far) through a recommendation - Kash's Garage. Nice guys and reasonable. Did it while I waited on a Saturday.

The only place I trust on LI is RMS Offroad out east, but they are extremely busy and probably won't want to do a 3" lift.

Good luck.

Actually, RMS off road is exactly the shop I was talking about. Do you have any contact info for that shop in CT? And what did it cost you?

Kash's Garage

Speak to Joey or Kash (owner). It's a two person shop - small but they have all the necessary equipment and are experienced with offroad equipment installs.

I can't remember how much they charged me because I got alot of other stuff done there during the same time (ARB bull bar install with Warn winch and more), It wasn't that bad. I'm sure if you call them they can give you a quote. They were great with the lift install and bull bar but they were a little slow and cautious with some electrical wiring so if you need lights done or something similar, I would recommend somewhere else for that kind of job.

Some people on Long Island got their lifts done at Toyota dealerships. Do a search for long island and lifts here and you might find a couple other places.
