CT Trails...

I am from MA but find myself in the CT, Enfield / Bloomfield area a lot lately. Wondering if anyone knows of any good trails around there. All I have seen out there is Urban Four Wheeling, nothing worth getting dirty for.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Re: CT Trails...

Eh, slim pickings or you end up on someone's land hearing warning shots.

I stumbled on some light wheeling by accident at Nepaug State Forest which is about 30mins west of Bloomfield but nothing to get excited over. I ran around it in a stock FJ on a rainy day and barely got muddy.
There's power line trails there but someone told me that power line trails are the property of [insert power company] and not fair game.

There is some hope:
Access roads in state parks and forests are considered public roadways by law and are open to registered motor vehicles and non-motorized use. However, the Department may close these roads for specific reasons such as public safety, wet unstable conditions, flooding, forest management activity or other special authorized use. In the case of Nipmuck State Forest, vehicle use was damaging some of the roads resulting in negative impacts to the wetlands, watercourses and other sensitive habitats within the forest. Therefore, the Department decided to close these roads.
